"All right everyone!" says Josephine, on stage, not realizing what is happening at the back of the crowd. "Let's try this again!"

"Why are you really here, time traveler?" asks Mr. Dubois, his grin a fading echo.

"Well I'm not here to let her upload herself to twitter or YouTube," says Bina. "I'm not here to gift her seven billion minds, or to help with whatever weird fantasy of godhood she's fed you."

"Everyone just look right here," says Josephine, on the stage.



Then she pulls the lever, and the panels on the front of the box open and and everyone looks.

Or… nearly everyone.
